Watch as Margot Robbie Dazzles and Cons Will Smith in First 'Focus' Trailer

After seducing Leonardo DiCaprio in last year’s Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie is setting her sights on Will Smith. And, as we can see from the first trailer for Focus above, he’s got his sights very much set on her.

The 24-year-old Australian actress is marvelously magnetic in the first look for the film, which features Smith as a con man named Nicky and Robbie as his eager pupil. Her character, Jess, is a real natural when it comes to the grifting game, with quick hands and tantalizing appeal. Soon enough, the student becomes the master, and that’s when things get complicated.

The film, from I Love You Phillip Morris writer-directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, has gone through several iterations, with star teams like Ben Affleck and Kristen Stewart and Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone attached at various points. The filmmakers lucked out, though, because few actors have Smith’s charm — when he chooses to use it, of course.

It’s been a quiet last few years for the Oscar-nominated megastar, who was last seen alongside his son Jaden in the critical and financial bomb, After Earth (he had a cameo in Winter’s Tale, but literally no one saw that movie). Other than 2012’s Men in Black 3, Smith has kept himself scarce; his last hit was 2008’s critical miss Hancock, and his last good movie was 2007’s I Am Legend.

Robbie, meanwhile, broke out big time in last year’s Wolf of Wall Street where she played the voracious, shrewd trophy wife of DiCaprio’s Wall Street raider. She and Smith landed in the gossip pages last year after snapping some silly shots together in a photo booth. Robbie later tweeted"It’s disappointing that goofing around on set could be taken so out of context." The offscreen rumors were overblown, but we’ll see if the actors’ onscreen chemistry is as good as it looks here when Focus hits theaters on February 27, 2015.
