Vin Diesel Performs an Original 'Last Witch Hunter' Song Just for Us, and Shares 3 Tips for Killer Karaoke

Vin Diesel is so excited for his new movie, he just can’t help but sing about it.

Recently, the 48-year-old actor sat down with Yahoo Movies for a conversation about The Last Witch Hunter, his new fantasy flick. Diesel is the movie’s star and one of its producers, but it’s too bad they couldn’t get him on the soundtrack, because the man sure can carry a tune. He showed off his pipes — and his on-the-spot songwriting abilities — during our chat, which began with a discussion of his one of the actor’s biggest passions: Karaoke. (You can watch the video above.)

Diesel is known for posting passionate cover versions of hit songs to his Facebook page, which have earned him viral infamy over the years. There’s his famous cover of Rihanna’s “Stay,” his Christmas carol, and the many times he sang in memory of Paul Walker this spring. The man is truly a multi-talented artist, and we were lucky to have him reveal his three rules to karaoke success:

1. Make the song relevant;
2. Sing like a ventriloquist;
3. Make sure the song is somehow related to The Last Witch Hunter — like, say, Ciara’s cover of the Rolling Stones’s “Paint It, Black,” which appears in the film’s trailer and end-credits sequence.

As a special treat, Diesel then free-styled a wholly original new song for us, one that focuses on the public’s reaction to trailer to The Last Witch Hunter. If the film is anything like his song, it’s going to be one of the most talked-about movies of the year.
