Variety Racks Up LA Press Club Award Nominations

Variety has received seven nominations from the Los Angeles Press Club for its 55th SoCal Journalism Awards.

The awards recognize L.A.-area journos and publications as well as excellence in new and emerging media. Variety scribes landed nominations in four categories.

  • Rachel Abrams — Entertainment Journalist
  • Brian Lowry — Columnist (“Why TV Channels Won’t Sustain Gun Debate”)
  • Andrew Wallenstein — Entertainment News or Feature (“Hulu Redo in View”)
  • Rachel Abrams, Clifford Coonan, Ted Johnson and Andrew Stewart — Entertainment News or Feature (“Great Mall of China”)
  • Marc Graser and Rachel Abrams — Entertainment News or Feature (“Movies & Money”)
  • Andrew Stewart — Entertainment News or Feature (“B.O. Reality Gets Lost in Perception”)
  • Ted Johnson — Blog, Individual (“RNC”)

Awards will be presented June 23 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
