Variety to Celebrate Asian Cinema at ‘A Night of Stars’ Event

Variety is celebrating excellence in Asian Cinema with its inaugural “A Night of Stars” event on Thursday, October 6 in Hong Kong.

Influential talent in Asian entertainment will walk the red carpet at the PMQ, including Aaron Kwok, Miriam Yeung, Elaine Jin, Maggie Shiu, William So, Qiqi, Gaile Lok, Pakho Chau, Shiga Lin, Michael Wong, Janet Ma, and the casts of “Port of Call” and “Weeds on Fire.”

A Dragon Racing car — boasting the auto racing team’s new livery design — will also be on display on the carpet. On Saturday, Dragon Racing will be competing in round one of the FIA Formula E racing circuit.

The event, presented by Faraday Future, celebrates the growing presence of Variety in Asia.

“We are excited to partner with Faraday Future to present Variety’s inaugural ‘A Night of Stars’ in Hong Kong, as we continue to expand our authority in the entertainment space globally,” said Michelle Sobrino-Stearns, Variety’s Group Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer.

“Variety is one of the most influential international entertainment media companies. Its decision to set foot in Asia is definitely a real shot in the arm for the potential investors whose support can ultimately help Asian cinema flourish,” said Kwok, a pop singer turned leading man in Asian cinema.

“Variety’s event gathers people of like minds who share the same passion for the industry, especially who dedicate immeasurable time, energy or money to Asian cinema,” Miriam Yeung, another Cantopop star turned actor, added.

Variety is the seminal voice of the entertainment industry for 111 years and counting, and is the trusted source for the business of global entertainment. Variety’s February 2015 cover story detailed the growing relationship between China and Hollywood.

Faraday Future, also based in California develops clean, intuitive, seamlessly connected electric vehicles that will advance future mobility solutions for society.

Dragon Racing is an American auto racing team and one of the founding teams of the FIA Formula E racing circuit series.
