The newest iteration of Fox's Tuesday comedy block premiered to largely solid last night, kicking off the night with controversial Dads. Fast National ratings give the sitcom a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49, besting last year's comparable opener for Raising Hope by 24 percent. Brooklyn Nine-Nine fared much better. The Andy Samberg vehicle averaged a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, besting last year's time slot holder (Ben & Kate) by 19 percent.

New Girl was up from last season's premiere, thanks in part to Fox launching its block a week early. The series averaged a 2.9 rating among adults 18-49, making it the night's strongest broadcast in the key demo and up one-tenth from last fall. The Mindy Project (1.9 adults), which premiered early online and on many cable carriers' VOD platforms, was down half of a point from its series premiere in the same half-hour.
The Million Second Quiz (1.1 adults) was up a tenth of a point from the previous night, leading into a slightly boosted America's Got Talent (2.4 adults). The NBC summer competition heads into its finale up one-tenth of a point from last week,
