With its trio of Shonda Rhimes-produced dramas duplicating last Thursday's numbers, ABC topped the night in the key demo.
Led by Grey's Anatomy, with its 1.7 rating among adults 18-49, steady episodes of Scandal (1.4 adults) and The Catch (0.7 adults) followed. The three were enough to narrowly beat CBS for the night, though The Big Bang Theory naturally emerged as the night's best-performing series.
At 8 o'clock, the comedy averaged a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.1 million viewers. Elsewhere on CBS, The Great Indoors (1.2 adults), Mom (1.3 adults), Life in Pieces (1.1 adults) and The Amazing Race (0.7 adults) were all steady.
NBC made some tweaks to its Thursday block. After pulling Powerless, the 8 p.m. Superstore was a repeat - with an original shifting into the Powerless half-hour to the tune of a 0.8 rating in the key demo. Chicago Med moved to 9 p.m., unmoved with a 1.0 rating in the key demo. And The Blacklist, though winning the 10 o'clock hour in its return to the time slot, was still at a series low 0.8 rating among adults 18-49.
MasterChef Junior was also at a season low, albeit for a clip show. The series averaged a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49 on Fox. Kicking & Screaming earned a 0.5 rating.
Supernatural (0.5 adults) and Riverdale (0.3 adults) held on the CW.
