While 2012 was filled with many outstanding movies, songs and TV series, a few clear winners emerged during the year's award shows.
At the 2012 Academy Awards, the innovative black and white film "The Artist" stole the show.
The silent movie dominated the Oscars, earning a total of five awards, including Best Picture, Best Musical Score and Best Art Direction.
Michel Hazanavicius won Best Director, while French newcomer Jean Dujardin nabbed Best Actor. Jean was overcome with emotion when he won, and accidentally dropped the F-bomb during his acceptance speech!
Access Hollywood caught up with the star at the Governor's Ball following the show, where he told us he was "over the moon" and "shocked" by his big win. Jean's mother, also on hand to celebrate her son's big night, was less than pleased with Jean's escaped expletive.
Watch Jean's mother react to her son's use of the F-word on the Oscar stage, HERE.
Jean may have gotten Oscar's attention, but we all know the real star of "The Artist" is Uggie, the adorable Jack Russell Terrier. While smaller (and furrier!) than Jean, this pint-sized pup stole our hearts once again when he graced us with his canine presence at the Access Hollywood Live set!
Watch Uggie show off his scene-stealing moves on Access Hollywood Live, HERE.
"The Artist" also won big at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards (nabbing Best Musical or Comedy, Best Musical Score and Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for Jean Dujardin). Also on the Globes' radar? George Clooney's "The Descendants." The film, shot in beautiful Hawaii, earned the Golden Globe for Best Drama, as well as Best Actor in a Drama for George.

On the small screen, "Modern Family" and "Homeland" ruled the 2012 Emmys. ABC's hit sitcom won Best Comedy, with series stars Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy) and Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) taking home supporting awards.
Eric was shocked by his win, telling Access at the time, "I was very surprised. Absolutely surprised. More surprised than I thought I would be!"

Showtime's "Homeland" won for Best Drama, while series stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis nabbed supporting awards.
Access caught up with Damian backstage after his big win, where he dished to Access about the show's most impressive fan (hint: he resides in a large, white house...) - check out the video, HERE.
And of course, when it came to music's biggest night, there was one queen -- and her name is ADELE. The British beauty took home a record SIX awards at the 2012 Grammys, for her sophomore album, "21."
The charming chanteuse - who won record, song and album of the year, among others - sobbed as she accepted the evening's final award, shouting, "Mom, gold is good!" as she clutched the shiny Album of the Year trophy.
Watch Adele open up to Access about the heartbreak that inspired "21," HERE.
