Tom Hanks Takes a Fall in Exclusive Clip From ‘A Hologram for the King’

In A Hologram for the King, written and directed by Tom Tykwer from the novel by Dave Eggers, Tom Hanks plays a struggling American businessman who travels to Saudi Arabia to make a crucial pitch that promises to help him regain his financial footing.

Even if you haven’t read Eggers’ original–a finalist for the National Book Award in 2012–you can probably guess that things don’t go entirely smoothly for Hanks’s character. That’s apparent in this Yahoo Movies exclusive clip from the film (watch it above), which opens Friday, in which Hanks tries to amp up the spirits of his colleagues but, thanks to a badly constructed chair, winds up falling on his butt. (Don’t worry. This is Tom Hanks we’re talking about here, and Tom Hanks always figures out how to get back on his feet.)
