Watch Love Conquer All (and Hear a New Track from Lady Antebellum) in Trailer for 'The Best of Me'
To fans of romance movies, a new big-screen adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel is nothing short of a major cultural moment. Today, Yahoo Movies offers an exclusive look at the trailer for the author’s latest cinematic offering, The Best of Me
The film stars James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan as high-school sweethearts who return to their hometown for the funeral of a friend, 20 years after their break-up, and find that their affections still burn. Unfortunately, so, too, do the forces that destroyed their relationship decades earlier.
As befitting a movie from America’s bard of Love Overcoming All, the accompanying soundtrack features odes to romance from some of country music’s biggest names. The Best of Me album will feature songs by Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, David Nail, Colbie Caillat and the Eli Young Band.
In the trailer, fans can hear “I Did With You,” a special piece inspired by the film, and performed by the Grammy-winning trio Lady Antebellum.
The Best of Me opens nationwide on October 17th.
