Time Inc. Taps Producer Josh Oshinsky to Oversee Sports Illustrated Video Operations

Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated Group has hired Josh Oshinsky as supervising producer for Sports Illustrated, Golf and SI Kids Video.

Oshinsky, who has won 13 Emmy Awards, will oversee video production and operations for these brands. He reports to Collin Orcutt, editor of Sports Illustrated Group video and digital/executive producer of SI Films.

Oshinsky’s TV and film credits include: senior producer for Showtime Networks’ “The Franchise,” for which he won a National Sports Emmy for outstanding edited series; producer and editor of ESPN “30 for 30” documentary “Four Days in October,” which won a Peabody for distinguished continuing series in 2010; and executive producer of SI’s annual “The Making of Swimsuit” docu-series.

“Josh has finely tuned instincts for storytelling and a keen understanding of the digital video space,” said Chris Stone, Sports Illustrated Group’s editorial director, in announcing the hire. “Adding him to the team builds on our momentum in the video space, and we are thrilled to have him join us.”

In addition, the Sports Illustrated Group announced the promotions of Lee Feiner, who has worked on SI video projects including those for the World Cup and the Olympics, and Nolan Thomas, who has worked on SI documentaries including “Young, Gifted & Homeless,” “A Boy Helps a Town Heal” and “Underdogs,” to the roles of producer. Both report to Oshinsky.

Sports Illustrated Group’s video productions include the upcoming “Jenner: 40 Years After the Gold,” about Olympic star Bruce Jenner who is now known as Caitlyn Jenner, and “Dear Basketball,” an animated short film in partnership with Kobe Bryant.
