Thomas Mann Lands Robert Sean Leonard Role in Off Broadway’s ‘Dead Poets Society’

Thomas Mann has come on board to play the role of Neil Perry in the new stage adaptation of “Dead Poets Society,” based on the movie starring Robin Williams.

Perry was played by Robert Sean Leonard in the 1989 Peter Weir pic. In the film, Perry was one of Williams’ students who was advised to follow his dream of becoming his actor from Williams’ character, even with a strict father who strongly opposed such ideas.

Mann has also recently signed on to star in the Matthew Brown movie “Maine,” which tells the story of a man and a woman who meet on a journey hiking the Appalachian mountain trail from its southern-most point all the way through to Maine. Summer Shelton, Alex Turtletaub and Michael B. Clark will be producing through Beachside.

The “Project X” star also recently signed on to the A24 pic “Lean on Pete” starring Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny and Charlie Plummer.

Mann recently wrapped production on “Kong: Skull Island” and can be seen in the Mel Gibson movie “Blood Father.”

He is repped by Innovative Artists and Industry Entertainment.
