Watch the ‘Transformers’ World Premiere, Featuring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Imagine Dragons

There were no giant robots rampaging down the red carpet at today’s Transformers: Age of Extinction premiere; maybe they were in the shop, or perhaps they were just trying to avoid getting rusted from all the rain. But the film’s stars — including Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz — were in attendance, as was Grammy-winning band Imagine Dragons. Here are the highlights of today’s big robot roll-out:

Proud Destroyer
Bay said he didn’t hurt Hong Kong “too much,” then giddily turned toward the skyline to point out the CGI damage he did to the city: “I totally destroyed that, I destroyed that, and I hurt the Bank of China a little bit…”

Mature and in Charge
Mark Wahlberg knows he’s now old enough to play a dad — and he’s okay with that. A father of four, the 43-year-old actor said he relates to his Transformers character, a working-class guy trying to protect his teenaged daughter. “My oldest is a [girl], and I’m going to have to deal with her wanting to date a boy,” he admits. “And that’s going to be a problem.”

All-the-Time Daughter
Can you fault Nicola Peltz for seeming a tad nervous on the red carpet? It’s the 19-year-old’s first epically ginormous world premiere, after all. She plays the daughter of Wahlberg’s Cade in the movie — a role that lingered off-camera, as well. “He’s definitely an overprotective father figure to me,” she said of the Boogie Nights star.

Bang!
Jack Reynor may have gotten wet behind the ears because of the rain, but the 22-year-old is also brand new to the ways of Michael Bay-sized action films. What stuck with him the most? The explosions, of course! Especially one of the blow-ups that appears in the trailer: “That was truly the most exhilarating experience in my life.”

Cartoon Memories
Imagine Dragons, who invited local musicians with them onstage to perform at the premiere, revealed they go way back with the Transformers brand. “We grew up watching Transformers when we were, like, 10 years old in front of our TV, watching Saturday cartoons, eating cereal,” said frontman Dan Reynolds.
