British theater director Thea Sharrock will direct drama-comedy “Legacy” from Gregg Hurwitz script for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Double Nickel Entertainment.
The project will be Sharrock’s feature directorial debut. SKE has come on board to finance and produce “Legacy” in its first production since “The Place Beyond the Pines,” starring Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendes.
Sidney Kimmel and president of production Matt Berenson will produce with Double Nickel’s Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman. Jim Tauber and Bruce Toll will executive produce.
“Legacy” centers on a single mother whose 12-year-old son persuades her to commit the perfect crime. Double Nickel has been developing the project since 2010.
