'The Vatican Tapes' Unleashes Antichrist, Gives New Meaning to Deviled Eggs (Exclusive)
The devil is plotting something truly horrifying in The Vatican Tapes. In this exclusive trailer, Michael Peña and Djimon Hounsou play a pair of priests reviewing films of exorcisms in the Vatican’s video archives in the hopes of piecing together Satan’s master plan.
Along the way they zero in on Angela Holmes (Olivia Taylor Dudley), a young woman whose body is possessed by formidable evil. At one point, bloodied pits appear on her feet similar to Christ’s crucifixion marks — but the priests suspect it’s not the Messiah at all. Poor Angela has been inhabited by the Antichrist.
Equipped with supernatural powers, she can float, roar, dislocate her shoulder, and even cough up demon eggs, of which you can glimpse at the 1:54 mark.
UPDATE: The Vatican Tapes unspools in theaters July 24.
