'The Trip to Italy' Trailer Promises More Food, More Laughs, and More Michael Caine Impressions

How’d you like to have dinner in a beautiful Italian restaurant with Michael Caine? And Sean Connery, too? Plus Al Pacino, Christian Bale, and Tom Hardy? That’s basically what you get in The Trip to Italy, where British funnymen Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon head off on another culinary expedition, bringing their trunkful of celebrity impressions along for the ride.

It’s director Michael Winterbottom’s second mostly improvised travelogue featuring the pair. As in the 2010 original – simply titled The Trip – Coogan and Brydon play fictionalized versions of themselves simultaneously joking with and annoying each other as they sample cuisine from six restaurants in six Italian cities. Originally filmed as a BBC series, the feature-length version of their journey premiered at this year’s 2014 Sundance Film Festival to uniformly positive reviews.

The Trip to Italy opens in select theaters on Aug. 15.
