The Most Outrageous Bond Girl Names, From Pussy Galore to Molly Warmflash

In SPECTRE, the new 007 film opening on Nov. 6, James Bond gets entangled with a woman named Dr. Madeline Swann, played by Léa Seydoux. By regular world standards, that’s an elegant, if unremarkable, name for a woman. By Bond Girl standards though, “Madeline Swann” is almost shockingly plain.

James Bond chases women as much as he chases criminals (sometimes, of course, they’re one in the same). And quite often, those ladies boast absolutely ridiculous monikers. Among the more notable names: original Bond Girl Honey Ryder (Dr. No), Holly Goodhead (Moonraker), Dr. Molly Warmflash (The World Is Not Enough), and, of course, Octopussy (Octopussy). And you don’t have to be an official Bond Girl to qualify, either: Even bit characters have outrageous names, like Bambi and Thumper from Diamonds are Forever.
