'The Lego Batman Movie' Trailer Is Here to Drop the Mic

With the word Batman already on everyone’s lips, Warner Bros. decided this is the perfect time to roll out the trailer for The Lego Batman Movie, the follow-up to The Lego Movie that gives the tiny, toy Will Arnett-voiced version of the Dark Knight the time in the spotlight he so richly deserves.

The trailer teaches us a lot of things about this version of Batman. For example: He can beatbox, which, frankly, is a skill that Ben Affleck-Batman really could have used in Batman v Superman, if only to cheer him up a little. (So morose, Ben Affleck-Batman.) Lego Batman also can heat up lobster thermidor in a microwave, something every superhero really should know how to do.

Okay, so that’s about all that happens in this trailer for a movie that doesn’t come out until February 2017. Even so, it’s still funnier — and, at two minutes long, mercifully much shorter — than Batman v Superman.
