'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Themed Lair Gets Listed on Airbnb

We’re quickly approaching the release of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel Out of the Shadows, and the ad wizards behind its promotion used their big, possibly anthropomorphic brains to come up with a cool marketing stunt. If you go to Airbnb, there is a real listing for a “Turtle Lair” in New York.

The host of the Lair is Leonardo. That makes sense he would take the lead, right? He explains that he, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo aren’t there because, “We’re about to go halfway around the world to shut down [Shredder’s] latest nutso scheme.”

Among the highlights of the loft are a glow-in-the-dark basketball court, arcade games, free pizza, and two stacks of traffic cones! Uh, I shouldn’t have ended with that. The design of the lair is spot-on. Yahoo Movies already took you inside the brand-spanking-new Turtle Van that Out of the Shadows is wheeling out. Clearly, someone is making strides to appeal to fans of the ’90s cartoon adaptation.

There are only three reviews listed for this LairBnB, but they’re so glowing you’d think they were ooze. Pete from New York called it “epic!” EPIC!

So, yeah, that’s the good news. The bad news is: You’ll never get to stay there. Sorry to be so harsh, but the odds are against you. It’s all booked up, and the contest to win a couple of nights has ended.

I’ve excited you, I’ve disappointed you, now allow me to warm your heart. For every guest who stays at the lair, there will be a donation to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center.
