New 'Ted 2' Red-Band Trailer: A NSFW Look at What Happens When Ted Wants to Procreate

Before the first Ted movie became a giant hit in 2002, not many people would’ve guessed that Mark Wahlberg and a talking teddy bear would become the next great stoner comedy team. With the release of Ted 2 (and its bong-toting “Legalize Ted” marketing campaign), these guys are going full-on Cheech and Chong — or Harold and Kumar, depending on your generation.

That much is clear in the new red-band trailer, which you can watch above. In their next smoke-filled adventure, Ted (voiced by writer-director Seth MacFarlane) declares to thunder-buddy-for-life John Bennett (Wahlberg) that he and his human girlfriend Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) want to have a baby. They need a sperm donor obviously, which leads them to the house of the man any Boston guy would want as father to his children: New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. (After recent comedies The Delivery Man and The Babymakers, it seems sperm-bank heists are still in vogue.)

Also problematic for the furry little guy: He’s not allowed father a child unless they can prove he’s a person in the court of law. That brings them to the office of a young attorney (Amanda Seyfried) who’s the perfect person to take on the case. How do they know this? Because she treats her migraines herbally.

Ted 2 opens everywhere June 26. Check out the new poster as well:
