Tamara Mellon’s ‘In My Shoes’ Movie in the Works

Working Title is developing a movie based on Tamara Mellon’s “In My Shoes” the 2013 autobiography of the Jimmy Choo co-founder.

The London-based production company is seeking a director for the movie project. Laura Solon (“Hot in Cleveland”) has written the script.

Working Title toppers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing with the company’s Lucas Webb overseeing.

Mellon became accessories editor for British Vogue in 1990 and approached shoe-maker Jimmy Choo with the idea of launching a ready-to-wear shoe company. She became the chief creative officer and co-founder of the luxury brand, which operated over 100 stores by 2001, and stepped down from the brand in 2011 after its acquisition by Labelux.

She became the British prime minister’s trade envoy and was honored by the Queen with the Order of the British Empire. The autobiography also covers her beginnings in the mansions of London and Beverly Hills, which were marked by a tumultuous and broken family life, battles with anxiety and depression, and a stint in rehab.

Working Title is in post-production on “Bridget Jones’ Baby,” starring Renee Zellweger and due out Sept. 16 through Universal.

The news about Mellon’s deal was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
