5 Burning Questions the New 'Cinderella' Still Doesn't Answer
You’ve got to give Kenneth Branagh’s new hit Cinderella credit for going out of its way to explain some of the more dubious aspects of the classic tale. For instance: At one point, young Ella (played by impressive breakout Lily James) is asked point blank why she doesn’t just leave when the wicked Lady Tremaine (Cate Blanchett) makes her a prisoner in her own home — something we’ve always wondered (the princess-to-be answers that her mother loved the house, and opts to stay in her memory). 1.
