Let’s begin with the 1996 movie: Fargo, written and directed by the Coen Brothers, began in the winter of 1987 and followed the foolhardy scheming of Jerry Lundegaard to hold his own wife for a ransom from his rich father-in-law. In 2014, Fargo returned as a TV series that seemed loosely connected to the original movie, telling a similar tale of a crime gone wrong, until in a flashback we see where the Supermarket King of Minnesota came upon his riches… a briefcase on the side of the road. The
