SXSW Exclusive: See 'Eyes Without a Face' Paintings of 10 Iconic Movie Characters

Jason Edmiston says eyes are "the hardest part of a portrait or likeness to get right." Jason Edmiston clearly enjoys a good challenge, then – or to be precise, 150 good challenges. The Toronto-based artist has created that many original pieces focusing on famous pop culture peepers for Mondo's 'Eyes Without a Face' exhibit, will be unveiled Friday at the South by Southwest Film Festival. (If you're not familiar, Mondo is a creator and distributor of fantastically cool movie posters, tees, vinyl, and more.) Edmiston has been conceptualizing the project for the last year-and-a-half, and actively painting for the past five months. Here's an exclusive look at 10 film-centric works that will be included in the display, with some commentary from Edmiston on each.
