Cool Down on the Fourth of July with this Supercut of Movie Stars Getting Wet and Wild

Summer is the right time to relax and enjoy the view, and what better view could there be than gorgeous movie stars emerging from the water? From Cameron Diaz to Phoebe Cates, Leonardo DiCaprio to Daniel Craig, the most iconic performers always know how to make a splash. Here, for your freeze-framing pleasure, are some of the finest post-swim moments in modern cinema.

These scenes aren’t always as fun to shoot as they are to watch. Halle Berry, who emerged seductively from the sea in the James Bond film Die Another Day (2002), doesn’t look back on that day fondly.

“The sea was freezing,” she told the Mirror. “I had to get in and climb out quite a few times and I went in the water and I kept coming out of the water… All the film crew could hear were instructions being shouted at me saying, ‘Can you be sexier?’ I was shouting back at the director: ‘This is all the sexy I got!’”

On the other hand, shooting an iconic swimsuit scene was quite easy for another Bond star. Daniel Craig, 007 himself, claims that his ocean moment in Casino Royale (2006) was literally effortless.

“It was actually by accident,” Craig told The Telegraph. “Where we filmed, off the Bahamas, it’s just one of those places where there is a sand shelf and the sand shelf happens to be three feet deep. Because the idea was, I was supposed to swim in and sort of float off, but I swim in and stand up. And it was just one of those things.”

Bond films are notable for this sort of scene, beginning with Ursula Andress’ bikini-clad entrance in the very first James Bond movie, Doctor No (1962). But they certainly haven’t cornered the market. As the video shows, there are countless ways to finish off a swim. So please: everybody out of the pool.
