'Suicide Squad': New Photo of Margot Robbie's Bat-Wielding Harley Quinn

The Suicide Squad covers of Empire magazine continue to drop jaws, and Margot Robbie’s appearance as Harley Quinn on the latest cover is no exception.

Heavily armed with a rather large handgun and baseball bat, adorned with punk and street gang-style accessories and wearing a “Daddy’s Lil Monster” shirt, Robbie’s look certainly doesn’t share many similarities with any heroes (or villains) currently existing.

“When I got the role, I started looking up Harley costumes online, with my mum sitting next to me,” Robbie told Empire. “She was like, ‘My daughter is going to dress like a prostitue!’ There are a lot of angry mothers out there!”

The costumes for the members of the Squad have been making waves this week, beginning when Jared Leto’s full head-to-toe look as the Joker made its debut. His duds included a purple snakeskin trench coat and matching cane, Arkham Asylum sweats, green slicked back hair and not much else.

Looks at Will Smith’s Deadshot and Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress have also been released.

Suicide Squad is directed by David Ayer and also stars Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Adam Beach as Slipknot and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.

The movie lands on Aug. 5, 2016.
