Movies you didn't know were sequels
"Soldier" — Did you know that the guy who made the "Resident Evil" movies made an unofficial sequel to Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner"? Director Paul W.S. Anderson's 1998 action movie "Soldier" starred Kurt Russell as a genetically engineered super soldier, much like Rutger Hauer's "Blade Runner" replicant Roy Batty, and the film was actually set in the same fictional future as the 1982 Harrison Ford sci-fi classic. Screenwriter David Peoples wrote both films and called "Soldier" a "sidequel" and spiritual successor to "Blade Runner." As such, the film included numerous references to events and technology either seen or talked about in "Blade Runner."
