Five Film Facts: 'The Words'
The Words Five Film Facts, 2012
Growing up in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, suburb, Bradley Cooper and writer-directors Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal have known each other since they were boys. Cooper, who first met Klugman when he was 10, later met Sternthal at Klugman's bar mitzvah (pictured) and the three went on to go to summer camp together. "[Klugman] and I became best buddies in high school because we both loved movies. We didn't grow up in an area where a lot of the guys talked about films as incessantly as we did, so we sort of found a commonality with each other," Cooper
said recently. "Together, we saw 'Platoon,' 'Stand by Me,' 'The Natural' and 'Yentl,'" Cooper
has recalled, adding, "[Brian] was the first person that I ever stayed with when I came out to L.A. I slept on his couch."
