The Real Deal
The stunts and tricks performed in the film are all done by real humans in a real street setting -- no green screens were used. The actors performed on the bikes as much as possible, but stunt doubles were on hand to do the tough stuff. For Wilee, five stuntmen were used -- four of whom are real-life bike messengers, along with one bona fide Hollywood stuntman. The only time visual effects were used was during sequences depicting "Bike Vision" -- a visual representation of Wilee's thoughts as he negotiates -- or fails to negotiate -- tough terrain.
