Saturday Night Live addressed Donald Trump's new role as president-elect in its own way in the show's first episode since election night.
In honor of Leonard Cohen, who died earlier this week, Kate McKinnon kicked off the episode in character as Hillary Clinton at the piano, singing one of Cohen's most famous tunes, "Hallelujah."
As a poet, songwriter and singer, Cohen had great influence over the music world, with evocative material that was frequently recorded by others. In some cases they even became hits, as "Hallelujah" did for the late Jeff Buckley.
McKinnon concluded her somber performance of the emotional tune with the message: "I'm not giving up, and neither should you."
Dave Chappelle made his SNL hosting debut on the Nov. 12 episode, which featured A Tribe Called Quest as musical guest.
