See Mila Kunis, Henry Cavill, and 4 Other Stars Who Launched Their Movie Careers in Horror

Everybody’s got to start somewhere, and for many eventual movies stars that “somewhere” are low-budget horror movies. For example, Johnny Depp was among the victims in the original 1984 Nightmare on Elm Street, while Brad Pitt nabbed one of his first big roles in the 1989 slasher flick, Cutting Class.

As this video reveals, the current generation of stars also have horrific pasts. Take Mila Kunis, who nabbed the lead role in 2002’s American Psycho 2, a movie she was so unhappy with, she petitioned to halt production of a third installment. (Fortunately, the fact that the direct-to-DVD sequel flopped took care of that for her.) Heartthrobs Henry Cavill and Ansel Elgort, meanwhile, appeared in the eighth Hellraiser feature and the Carrie remake respectively, with Cavill’s role proving so forgettable, the crew neglected to take him down from the hook-rigged harness his character was impaled on. And speaking of Carrie, Elgort’s co-star in that movie, Chloë Grace Moretz, got exposed to spooky stuff at an early age, appearing in the 2005 Amityville Horror update at the tender age of 6. Of course, her mother didn’t allow the young actress to see the film at the time. But that’s OK…nobody else saw it either.
