New ‘Scandal’ Art Promises Shift In Power For Upcoming Season 6

The balance of power is about to shift. No, that’s not a headline from November 8, but the tagline of new Scandal art unveiled today by ABC, giving yet another clue, however small, about the upcoming Season 6.

An earlier teaser promo promised that the Shondaland series will “live up to the hype” within the first 10 minutes of its January 19 return.

Season 5 ended as the show’s presidential candidates were about to announce their running mates, with crisis manager Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) in a thorny situation and White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) in possession of intel that just might throw the race upside down.

The Shonda Rhimes drama also stars Tony Goldwyn, Scott Foley, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Bellamy Young, Joshua Molina, Portia de Rossi and Cornelius Smith Jr.

The new season will air at 9 PM Thursdays, after Grey’s Anatomy at 8 and followed by How to Get Away With Murder at 10.
