Zac Efron, Billy Bob Thorton Play Rookie Doctor and Secret Service Agent in 'Parkland' First Look (Photos)

The first photos for the upcoming film "Parkland" -- which portrays the events surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy -- have been released through USA Today.

After the Nov. 22, 1963 motorcade shooting in Dallas' Dealey Plaza, Kennedy was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, died in the same hospital two days later after being shot in the stomach.

In the Playtone film, Zac Efron (Left) plays one of the rookie doctors on duty during President Kennedy's assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald. Marcia Gay Harden plays the head nurse in the trauma room.

In real-life, as the movie chronicles the event, the hospital staff was told only that the president was on the way to the hospital, not of the tragic shooting. They presumed he had the flu.

Billy Bob Thornton (Right) portrays Forrest Sorrels, the head of Dallas' Secret Service office, who took the assassination personally, despite its unstoppable nature.

Paul Giamatti plays Abraham Zapruder, the key witness who happened to be filming the motorcade. Zapruder's 26 seconds of film would be among the most analyzed ever in history.
