Variety Promotes Brooke Turpin to VP of Global Consumer and Strategic Partnerships

Variety has promoted Brooke Turpin to the position of Vice President of Global Consumer and Strategic Partnerships.

Turpin will add oversight of worldwide consumer revenue across digital, print and events to her current role leading Variety‘s event and summits business. She will also oversee key consumer accounts within parent company PMC’s fashion trade publication, WWD.

Since joining Variety in 2009, Turpin has increased new revenue streams with the development of the events and summits business. The unit has averaged more than 40% growth each year, thanks to events such as Big Data, The Power of Women series and StyleMakers. Turpin has also brought Fortune 500 brands to the publication including Samsung, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Delta Airlines and L’Oreal.

“Brooke is a talented executive who has pioneered significant growth for our events and summits business,” said Variety Publisher Michelle Sobrino-Stearns. “It only makes sense for us to have Brooke cross over to lead our global consumer initiative across all platforms — print, digital plus events and summits.”

Prior to her work at Variety, Turpin held positions in entertainment marketing at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and City of Hope. Her consumer marketing expertise was shaped by nine years at Barneys New York, where she held senior positions in advertising and public relations.
