Universal, Red Granite Team on ‘Dumb and Dumber’ Sequel
After Warner Bros. let go of the project, Peter and Bobby Farrelly have found a new home for “Dumb and Dumber To.”
Red Granite and Universal Pictures have come on with Red Granite Financing and Universal Pictures distributing. Red Granite will also sell international rights.
In an interview on the Nerdist podcast, the Farrellys said they would direct the pic and that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had agreed to reprise their roles. The most recent drafts were written by “Horrible Bosses” scribes by John Morris and Sean Anders.
The Farrelly brothers will produce alongside Joey McFarland for Red Granite Pictures.
The news comes after word broke last week that Warners Bros. was dropping the project and letting the Farrellys to shop it elsewhere.
The Farrellys are repped by CAA, Carrey is repped by WME and Mosaic and Daniels is repped by ICM Partners.
