Tribeca Winner ‘The Kill Team’ Picked Up For North American Distribution

Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to Dan Krauss’ “The Kill Team,” four months after the movie won the documentary grand jury prize at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Oscilloscope plans a release next year.

The film has also screened at HotDocs, AFI Docs, and the San Francisco International Film Festival, where it also won a jury prize.

“The Kill Team” focuses on Private Adam Winfield, a 21-year-old soldier in Afghanistan who tried to alert the military to the war crimes his platoon was committing by framing their civilian victims as terrorists.

The film includes access to the key individuals including Private Winfield, his supportive parents and Winfield’s compatriots in the so-called “Kill Team.”
