Despicable Me 2, the box office animated hit starring the voices of Steve Carell and Kristin Wiig, continues to show strong consumer interest as its trailer was the most viewed for the second week in a row.

The Despicable Me 2 Trailer no. 3 recorded 6.5 million views for the week for a total of 47.2 million lifetime views.

The movie has grossed $660 million in the month since its debut.

Buoyed by a surge of Comic-Con-related publicity (and probably the controversy surrounding star Jim Carrey's comments about the movie's violence), Kick Ass 2's debut trailer landed in the second spot.

It managed 3.8 million views in its initial week.

Overall, Comic-Con does not appear to have produced a bump in trailer views.

Fast & Furious 6 continues to hang around the top 5, rising from fourth to third place with two million views.

The movie opened in the U.S. nearly ten weeks ago but continues to add international territories, where its foreign box office exceeds $500 million.

It has grossed $741 million in total.

The car chase flick trailer has now recorded an astounding 126.8 million views since its debut in February.

Hunger Games: Catching Fire moved back into the top 10 after just missing the list last week as the eleventh most-viewed trailer, garnering 1.8 million views.

The Fifth Estate debuted in the fifth spot with 1.8 million views and was followed by 300: Rise of the Empire with 1.7 million views.

The real-life thriller about Julian Assange and Wikileaks starring Benedict Cumberbatch opens in mid-October.

For the second week in a row, the trailer for TV movie/social media sensation Sharknado landed in the top ten with 1.7 million views.

Only 120,000 views separated the no. 5 and no. 7 spot.

The top ten was rounded out by 12 Years a Slave (1.6 million), Thor: The Dark World (1.5 million) and in tenth Pacific Rim (1.4 million).
