Tim Blake Nelson Joins Noah Wyle In Drag-Race Drama ‘Snake And Mongoose’

Tim Blake Nelson will play drag racing announcer McAllister in Snake And Mongoose, an indie feature that’s getting underway with Wayne Holloway directing. He joins Noah Wyle, who plays Mattel Inc. exec Art Spear in a film that tells the story of the rivalry between racing legends Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen, who transformed an obscure sport into a global phenomenon. Mattel became the sport’s first major corporate sponsor. Jesse Williams plays Prudhomme and Richard Blake plays McEwen. Kim Shaw and Ashley Hinshaw also star.

The film is being done in partnership with the National Hot Rod Association. Robin Broidy and Rhino Films’ Stephen Nemeth are producing. Broidy’s recently formed Entertainment Universe is financing the feature. Holloway, who co-wrote the script with Alan Paradise, is a British commercials director making his feature debut. Nelson is repped by UTA and manager Amy Guenther.
