The Flash: Warner Bros Set To Appoint Seth Grahame-Smith As Director

Seth Grahame-Smith looks set to direct ‘The Flash’ for Warner Bros as part of their expanding DC Comics Cinematic Universe.

The writer and producer is believed to be in final talks with the studio to direct what will be his first motion picture, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Wrap also cites its own sources confirming the news.

Grahame-Smith is best known as the best-selling author of 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ and 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’. The former was adapted for the big screen in 2012 while an adaptation of the latter is set for release in 2016.

He is currently working on the script for Warner’s 'Lego Batman Movie’.

'The Flash’ will star Ezra Miller as the titular hero, who has the ability to run at super-human speeds. Earlier this year 'The Lego Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were revealed to be writing a treatment for the script.

Lord and Miller also once toyed with the idea of directing the film for Warner Bros - with whom they have a great relationship - but elected instead to helm the Han Solo 'Star Wars’ spin-off movie for Disney and LucasFilm.

'The Flash’ will share no connection with the popular CW television series of the same name, but the film’s creators will be grateful for the boost in popularity that series has given the Scarlet Speedster.

It is believed that Ezra Miller will first appear as the character in
'The Justice League: Part One’ in late 2017, given he is a core member of the iconic superhero group.

That film - to be directed by Zack Snyder - will hit cinemas a few months prior to 'The Flash’, which is set for release on 23 March 2018.
