'Switched at Birth' Return Gives Jennifer Lopez's 'The Fosters' Ratings Boost

"Switched at Birth" returned to good numbers Monday, but the real story lies in what it did for "The Fosters" in its second week.

ABC Family claims scripted TV's top spot during Monday's 8 p.m. timeslot for "Switched at Birth in all key demographics, including 855,000 viewers and a .7 rating in the advertiser-coveted Adults 18-49 demo.

It also saw a 34 percent increase over its average total visitors for Summer 2012 -- 1.66 million vs. 1.24 million.

Produced by Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions, "The Fosters" saw a boost at 9 p.m. with "S.A.B.'s" lead-in. It saw a 20 percent increase in total viewers over its second week (1.7 million vs. 1.42 million). It also earned an 8 percent increase in the 18-49 demo (781,000 vs. 636,000).

"The Fosters" follows a blended family made up of a lesbian couple raising their biological and adoptive children.
