Stockholm Fest Launches Impact Award For Best International Film

Stockholm International Film Festival is launching the Stockholm Impact Award, a kudo that will go to an international movie.

The Impact Award will be given to a film presented in the newly-created Impact selection, which will be dedicated to “headstrong visionaries who reflect our contemporary world,” stated the fest.

The Impact lineup will comprise seven to ten films from all over the world have their world. Pics will either have their international or European premiere at the fest.

The award will be joined by a grant of 1 million SEK, the equivalent to approximately $120K, to
support the development of the winning director’s upcoming project.

“We are proud to present this new award, which will be one of the biggest film awards in the world. Several factors point to Stockholm as an ideal platform, the timing after Toronto and AFM is attractive for a European launch,” said festival director Git Scheynius.

Added Scheynius, “The festival has great experience with high profile directors who’ve enjoyed the distinctive Nordic ambience of the city.”
