fundraiser, Hillary Clinton’s Tinseltown friends have been revealed to be very, very generous. Matching the amounts they donated to President Barack Obama’s PAC in 2012, Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg gave $1 million apiece to the former Secretary of State’s 2016 SuperPAC, Federal Elections Commission filings disclosed today. The contributions were made to Priorities USA Action SuperPAC, an independent expenditure committee.

With the 2010 Supreme Court decision in the Citizens United case, individuals can now essentially donate an unlimited amount of cash to SuperPACs. And actually, Katzenberg and Spielberg were far from the top Hollywood donors to the Presidential SuperPACs in the first half of 2015. That distinction goes to Laura Perlmutter, the wife of Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter. Mrs. Perlmutter gave $2 million to the SuperPAC for Senator Marco Rubio’s bid for the GOP nomination and the White House.

Also on the $1 million Clinton SuperPAC donor list were Haim Saban and his wife Cheryl ($1M each), who also hosted a fundraiser for Clinton at their Los Angeles home in May. Other donors included Star Wars director J.J. Abrams and his wife Katie McGrath, who each gave $500,000. Priorities USA Action SuperPAC,reported raising $15.7 million from January 1 through June of this year.
