‘Stalker’ Ratings Rise In New Slot, ‘Gotham’ & ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Steady, ‘2 Broke Girls’ Down
One villain met his end and another made his big move on Gotham (1.5/5) last night as the Fox series stepped toward its Season 1 finale next week. There was no Fish Mooney on Monday, but Wayne Enterprises’ Lucius Fox made his debut on the Batman backstory show’s penultimate episode. Among adults 18-49, it was fairly steady with last week: The show slipped 6% in preliminary numbers from April 21’s final numbers, which were adjusted up a tenth from their fast nationals. Things were pretty much the same for lead-out The Following (1.2/4), which was even with last week.
Breaking news of the unrest in Baltimore last night and NBA playoffs and baseball games threw a wrench in the works for CBS, NBC and the CW. In Baltimore, CBS preempted primetime for local news coverage, while NBC and the CW were preempted in Portland and Chicago, respectively, for basketball and baseball. All of which means, ratings at the three networks are expected to see greater than
usual adjustment. With that said, the 9 PM debut of Stalker (1.4/4) saw the freshman procedural jump 17% from its last original of Wednesday, February 18. However, compared to the Scorpion Season 1 finale last week, Stalker was down 36% Monday to Monday. The rest of CBS’ night was not so uplifting, with 2 Broke Girls (1.7/6) and Mike & Molly (1.8/6) down 19% and 10%, respectively, from last week and 10 PM’s NCIS: Los Angeles (1.4/4) even with its April 21 episode.
Among adults 18-49, NBC was clearly tops last night with a 2.2/7 rating with both The Voice (2.6/8) and The Night Shift (1.3/4) tying last week’s telecasts. The singing competition show was the No. 1-rated show of the night but came in second viewershipwise to time-slot rival Dancing With The Stars (2.0/6), which had an audience of 12.97 million. The two-hour ABC series was almost in lock-step with its April 21 show, with a 6% dip in the key demo. DWTS’ lead-out Castle (1.3/4) also was steady, with a 7% slip. ABC was the most watched network Monday with 11.493 million tuning in.
On the baseball-preempted CW things were a lot like last week, with both The Originals (0.5/2) and Jane The Virgin (0.4/1) even with their April 21 episodes.
