Slasher Comic Spec ‘You’ll Be The Death Of Me’ Sells To Lionsgate/Summit

EXCLUSIVE: In a low six-figure deal, Lionsgate/Summit has bought Mark Hammer’s slasher/comedy spec You’ll Be The Death Of Me. The logline: Nothing can spoil falling in love in New York City, but a masked knife-wielding psychopath hell bent on keeping you single can certainly make falling in love more difficult. Producing is Mandeville Films, which just generated to Lionsgate/Summit zom com Warm Bodies, which grossed over $110 million worldwide.

Hammer’s last script, Two Night Stand, made the 2011 Black List, and has completed production. Max Nichols (son of Mike Nichols) directed the romantic comedy with Miles Teller and Analeigh Tipton starring. Hammer is separately writing a feature for Bad Robot partners JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk, and recently re-wrote Click To Connect for Fox 2000 with Simon Curtis attached to direct.

Hammer is repped by UTA, Think Tank Management and Jackoway/Tyerman.
