Sinead O'Connor Cancels 2012 Tour, Citing Bipolar Disorder
Singer Sinead O'Connor has canceled "all touring" for the rest of 2012, saying she is "very unwell" and dealing with bipolar disorder.
O'Connor, 45, posted a statement on her website, telling fans, "With enormous regret, I must announce that I have to cancel all touring for the year as am very unwell due to bipolar disorder," Billboard.com reports.

"As you all know, I had a very serious breakdown between December and March and I had been advised by my doctor not to go on tour but didn't want to 'fail' or let anyone down as the tour was already booked to coincide with album release," O'Connor wrote. "So very stupidly I ignored his advice to my great detriment, attempting to be stronger than I actually am. I apologise sincerely for any difficulties this may cause."
O'Connor, whose website and Twitter account have since gone inactive, also wrote that she still hopes to perform at the Curtis Mayfield tribute at Lincoln Center in New York on July 20.
The singer, who tweeted about her tumultuous 16-day marriage to therapist husband Barry Herridge in December, was scheduled to begin a U.S tour in May, to support her new CD, "How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?"
