Ryan Gosling’s ‘How To Catch A Monster’ Sees Strong Sales
Sierra/Affinity has sold 20 international markets for Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut, fantasy drama “How to Catch a Monster.”
Christina Hendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Saoirse Ronan, Ben Mendelsohn, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith and Rob Zabrecky are starring in the project, which recently began shooting in Detroit.
The project is selling at Cannes. Warner Bros acquired U.S. rights to the project last week.
Territories sold include Australia/New Zealand (Entertainment One Australia); Benelux (Cineart); Canada (Entertainment One Canada); CIS (Top Film Distribution/DK Media); France (Wild Side); Latin America (Sun Distribution); Scandinavia (Scanbox); United Kingdom (Entertainment One UK)
Marc Platt and Adam Siegel are producing along with Gosling through his Phantasma Films and Michel Litvak and David Lancaster through Bold Films. The script, written by Gosling, centers on a single mother swept into a dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
