Invisible Sister (8/7c) finds Blanchard playing Cleo, a budding young scientist who accidentally turns her sister (Mighty Med‘s Paris Berelc) completely invisible. After spending so much time as Riley, Blanchard tells TVLine that she’s excited for fans to see her in a different light.

“Cleo is much more introverted, and while Riley can have moments where she thinks to herself, she’s a lot more outgoing,” she explains. “Riley is always solving everybody else’s problems, but with Cleo, everything’s much more internalized.”

In addition to getting to work with her fellow Disney Channel stars — including Karan Brar (Jessie, Bunk’d) as Cleo’s best friend George — Blanchard is also excited about the film’s multicultural cast: “Lately, I’ve been trying to get everybody to be represented in movies, so I’m glad that our cast is very diverse.”

And Blanchard isn’t just the star of a Disney Channel Original Movie; she’s also a bit of a DCOM historian, citing 2009’s Princess Protection Program as one of her all-time favorites.

“That was my moment, because it was Selena [Gomez] and Demi [Lovato],” she says. “Obviously, I also love High School Musical, which is a classic. And all of the Halloweentown movies; those are my old-school jams.”
