Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network Sets Latino Filmmaker Showcase
Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network has organized a Latino filmmaker showcase set for Oct. 18 in Hollywood.
The filmmaker’s cabler has partnered with the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, Time Warner Foundation, Univision Los Angeles, World Channel and Texican Media for the inagural Latino Lens Filmmaker Showcase at the Avalon Hollywood.
The showcase will spotlight creative and rising Latino filmmakers working on making exceptional short films. The event will include screenings, panels, interactive areas and raffles. There will also be a tribute from NALIP honoring actor Luis Guzman with the Latino Lens Legacy Award.
Selected films for the Q&A include “Darkness of Night” written and directed by Vincent Cortez; “Sin City: Zorro Girl in Dead Man’s Alley” written and directed by Teresa Jolie; “Mateo” written and directed by Nancy C. Mejia; “Lost Weekend” written and directed by Adam Valencia and “It’s Not Porn…” directed by Alberto Belli.

Spotlighting some of the great talents in our community encourages Latino filmmakers to continue make their mark on the entertainment industry.”
