New Regency Raises $200 Million in Capital

New Regency has raised $200 million in capital from a series of funds led by Fortress Investment Group.

The company behind “Gone Girl,” “12 Years a Slave,” and “Birdman” plans to use the funding for its upcoming releases, as well as to support its film production and development arm, and television business. The loan encompasses five years. J.P. Morgan Securities arranged the financing.

“We are looking to continue to grow our business aggressively, and this boost further strengthens our position to seize new and exciting opportunities moving forward,” New Regency founder Arnon Milchan said in a statement.

The company’s upcoming movies include “Alvin & the Chipmunks: Road Chip,” an adaptation of the video game “Assassin’s Creed” and “The Revenant,” a historical thriller from director Alejandro González Iñárritu starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.
