Ratings: NBC Wins Despite Lukewarm 'Deception' Debut; 'Bachelor' Hits Low for Premieres

NBC's "The Biggest Loser" dipped from its season premiere and the network's new drama "Deception" got off to a so-so start, but the combination was enough to push NBC to a ratings win Monday night. Meanwhile, "The Bachelor" launched its new season with its lowest ratings to date for a season premiere, according to preliminary numbers.

NBC took first place in the advertiser-preferred 18-49 demographic with a 2.2 rating/6 share and second in total viewers with 6.1 million. The time-period premiere of "The Biggest Loser" at 8 p.m. posted a 2.4/6, down 20 percent from Sunday night's season premiere. But it was still the night's top-rated show, and drew 6.3 million total viewers. The new drama "Deception" at 10 premiered to a lukewarm 2.0/5 and took 5.6 million total viewers. ABC took second place in ratings and first in total viewers with a 2.1/5 and 7.4 million. The season premiere of "The Bachelor" at 8 inched down 4 percent from last spring's premiere to hit a low for premieres for the series, posting a 2.3/5 and taking 6.8 million total viewers. "Castle" at 10 fared better, climbing 12 percent from its last original airing in December, which was a series low for the program. Monday's "Castle" posted a 1.9/5 and grabbed 8.6 million total viewers, which made it the most-watched program of the night. CBS, which ran repeats throughout the night, took third place in ratings and total viewers with a 1.4/4 and 5.4 million. Fox came in fourth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.9/2 and 3.8 million. Following a "Bones" repeat at 8, a new "Mob Doctor" the following hour drew a 0.9/2 and had 3.3 million total viewers.
