Ratings: Fox Wins Handily With 'MasterChef' on Night of Lows

Fox carved out an easy victory Wednesday with "MasterChef," as ABC's "Family Tools" and "How to Live With Your Parents" hit lows and CBS's "American Baking Competition" failed to improve on its soft debut. NBC's "Dateline" tied a season low, according to preliminary numbers.

On a repeat-heavy night, nearly every original program matched or hit a seasonal or all-time low. "MasterChef," ABC's "Nightline" and Univision's shows were the only exceptions.

Fox was first in the key 18-49 demographic and total viewers, averaging a 2.2 rating/7 share and 5.4 million. The 8 p.m. airing of "MasterChef" had a 2.0/7 and 4.9 million total viewers, while the show had a 2.5/7 and 5.9 million the following hour.

Univision was second in ratings and fifth in total viewers with a 1.4/4 and 3.6 million.

CBS and ABC tied for third in the ratings with a 1.1/3, but CBS was second in total viewers with 5.3 million. At 8, its "American Baking Competition" had a 1.0/4, flat with its debut last week and 4.6 million total viewers. Otherwise CBS ran repeats. But one of them, "CSI" at 10, was the most-watched show of the night with 6.3 million total viewers.

ABC was fourth in total viewers, averaging 3.9 million. At 8:30, "Family Tools" hit a season low with a .9/3 and had 3.4 million total viewers. "How to Live With Your Parents" at 9:30 also hit a low with a 1.3/4 and had 3.8 million viewers in all. At 10, "Nightline: The Lookout" had a 1.1/3, flat with last week, and 3.8 million. Otherwise, ABC ran repeats.

NBC was fifth in the ratings with a .9/3 and third in total viewers with 4.3 million. Its only new program was "Dateline" at 8. It fell 27 percent from last week to a 1.1/4, a season low, and had 5.2 million total viewers.
